VA Caregiver Support Program Expansion Begins: What it Means for Veterans and Caregivers
|
Q. I am a caregiver for my father, a U.S. Navy veteran. He and I recently celebrated Veteran’s Day and my understanding is that it is National Family Caregiver’s Month all through November. In light of these two important observances, I was hoping you could update me on the VA Caregiver Support Program expansion, which I believe recently entered Phase 1, as a result of the
MISSION Act of 2018. What should caregivers of veterans know about this expanded program and how do you apply? What other programs are available for senior veterans that need assistance with activities of daily living?
Critter Corner: Veterans Can Connect with Their Families Through Free Portals
|
I am a disabled Air Force veteran, and my husband and I live in Northern Virginia. We have mostly stayed in the house due to the pandemic and miss seeing family. I am pretty technologically savvy and we’d love to communicate with our family members and see their faces since we can't see them in person this year. I heard about a program where Facebook and the Red Cross are
giving away thousands of Facebook portals to eligible veterans. Do you know how it works?
